Candied Pecans

NUTS!!!…one of the funniest one-word, one-liners from the movie Uncle Buck. Yes, an old reference, but still a classic comedy!

Anyway, these candied nuts are so tasty on their own, but they are very versatile as well. I like to chop some up and toss them into chicken salad or sprinkle them on top of ice cream. I’ve even been known to add some to pancake batter. However, if you’re planning on making pancakes the size of Uncle Buck’s…you may need to buy more pecans {wink.}

Ingredients:
2 cups pecans
3 Tablespoons egg white liquid {or 4 egg whites}
1/2 Cup brown sugar

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine ingredients in a large bowl and toss to coat. Pour onto a baking sheet in a single layer, slightly spread apart so they do not clump together while baking. Bake for about 10-15 minutes until nuts are toasted and the brown sugar has melted slightly.

Let cool and serve or use in other recipes.
