Talkin’ Trash…Texas Trash

Sweet & Spicy Texas Trash
For a state with a slogan like “Don’t Mess with Texas,” it’s funny how much we looooove this snack mix called Texas Trash. It inevitably makes an appearance at most cocktail parties, football gatherings, and road trips. There are so many ways to make this snack mix unique by mixing and matching ingredients to your liking. This time I wanted to make a batch that was sweet with a little kick. The addition of honey was a great way to make this {often redundant} snack mix seem special.

Ingredients:
1 {15oz} bag Traditional Chex Mix
1 {9oz} can mixed nuts
About 1/2lb pretzels {I used about 1/2 of a 16oz bag of pretzel sticks}
1/2 cup honey
2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon tabasco
1 stick butter

Directions:
Preheat your oven to 250 degrees.
In a microwave safe dish, melt the butter in the microwave for one minute. Add honey and microwave for 10 seconds more. Stir.
In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients. Toss to coat the mix evenly with the honey butter. Pour onto a baking sheet and cook for 1 hour and 15 minutes, stirring every fifteen minutes.
