Cream Cheese Icing

Cream Cheese IcingCupcakes, muffins, shoe leather…cream cheese icing makes anything taste amazing! Often times, the pastry of choice is just the vehicle for getting the cream cheese icing to our mouth. Although carrot cake, red velvet, etc. are perfectly fine, the addition of this icing makes them an experience!

1 {8oz} package cream cheese {or Neufchatel}
1/2 cup {1 stick} butter, at room temperature
2 cups confectioner’s sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon almond extract {optional}

Combine all ingredients and mix with a hand-held or stand mixer with the paddle attachement. Mix well.
